New Features & Enhancements (Version 2.2.1)
Menu Template Improvements
Week 1 Monday as Master Day
To reduce data entry errors and streamline the menu building process, Week 1 Monday is now the “master day” in menu templates. When saving Week 1 Monday, meal course, meal choice and choice rule will be automatically populated across:
All other days in Week 1 (Tuesday to Sunday)
The same weekdays in subsequent weeks
Enter Menu Template data in to Week 1, Monday.
.
Once the template structure has been built, click Save at the bottom of the page
View Menu Template

4. The Menu Template structure from Week 1 Monday has been automatically copied across all days and weeks in the template
This ensures consistency in structure and prevents missing or mismatched courses. Users can still customise recipe choices and rules for each day as needed.
Restrictions When Templates Are in Use
If a menu template is being used in a planning or active menu:
Editing and deleting existing meal services or meal choices is blocked
Users can only add new services or choices
Clear warning messages are displayed to ensure users understand these limitations and avoid accidental changes to live data.
If you have any existing menu templates where the structure is misaligned across weeks—for example, if the number or type of courses differs between weeks—it may become difficult to edit or update those templates after the release. In these cases, we recommend creating new templates if the existing ones cannot be aligned.
Order Form Enhancements
Event Recipes Now Universally Available
Recipes created for special events (e.g., Mother’s Day or Cultural Celebrations) can now be selected for all residents, regardless of their menu type (e.g., Dementia or Additional Services). These recipes will still respect:
Allergy restrictions
Texture modification requirements
This gives catering teams more flexibility when offering festive or seasonal meals. This only applies to clients using the “Events” module.
Multiple Vegetable Selections
Users can now select more than one vegetable in the Individual Order Form. This brings it in line with the Resident Menu Selection Form and allows a more complete representation of what residents will be served.
NBM Residents Now Properly Filtered
NBM (Nil By Mouth) residents:
Will no longer appear in order forms where they shouldn’t
Will no longer have their Continental Breakfast data included in the Shopping List
Dashboard & Reports Enhancements
Dashboard Quick Links
The “Latest News” section on the dashboard has been replaced with Quick Links to frequently used forms and reports:
Resident Menu Selection Form (current week)
Meal Order Form
Resident Meal Choice Summary Report
Drink List
Daily Menu
This helps staff save time and access key features more easily.
Performance Boosts in Reports
Backend optimisations now use cached resident data in reports such as:
Drinks and Supplements
Tray Tags
Resident Profiles
These changes drastically reduce load times and help avoid timeouts, especially for large sites.
Recipes & Ingredients
Category Update
The “Nestle Health Science” recipe category has been renamed to “Featured” so we can highlight seasonal or promotional recipes.
Recipe Validation Enhanced
When creating or editing a recipe:
Ingredient validation (e.g. “must include at least one ingredient with quantity”) is now shown earlier in the process (Step 2), instead of after clicking save.
This helps users catch errors sooner and speeds up recipe creation.
Cancel Button Fixes
Edit Recipe screens now have a Cancel button that works even if no changes have been made.
Add Recipe screen now allows the Cancel button to be used at any time—no need to enter a field first.
Resident Management
Two New Special Diets Added
We have added two new Special Diets to our list:
- CF - Clear Fluids
- EF - Egg Free
These diets do not affect the ordering form.
If you have an integration with your clinical software, you can add these new special diets to your forms for selection when residents' nutrition and hydration needs are assessed by your team. If selected in your form, they will map into SoupedUp.
Clearer Language for Status Changes
The resident discharge status “Transferred to another facility” has been updated to “Transferred to another organisation” for clarity, especially where multi-site clients are involved.
Improved Button Labelling
The “Move Resident” button now reads “Move/Transfer Resident” to better reflect the action being performed.
